6th Annual Bob O’Brien Memorial Golf Classic a Success

Four-man scramble teams took to the fairways and greens during the sixth annual Bob O’Brien Memorial Golf Classic, hosted by AAF Jackson. Held at Bay Pointe Resort and Golf Club in Brandon on Thursday, November 3, the fundraising tournament was once again a big success, drawing rave reviews from participants.

Ten sponsors — Maggie Clark Media Services, PC Data, Thomas O’Brien and Friends, Godwin Group, WDBD-Fox40, Mad Genius, Radio People, Johnny Maloney & Friends, Jackson Paper, and Message Point Media — fielded teams competing for bragging rights and prizes. The Thomas O’Brien and Friends team scored first place, while the PC Data and Godwin Group teams took second and third place, respectively. No one went home empty-handed, though, as Mississippi Tourism and a host of other local supporters provided player gifts and souvenirs.

The tournament was made possible by the generosity of multiple sponsors. They included tournament sponsor Maggie Clark Media Services, hole sponsors Eubank and Betts, Magnolia Federal, WAPT, Maris West & Baker, and Service Printers, and golf cart sponsor Message Point Media. Proceeds from the tournament totaled around $3,000. AAF Jackson programs include advertising education, public service advertising projects, and advertising excellence; all funds raised will be used to sustain these and other programs throughout the year.
