AAF Jackson will host its 6th Annual Bob O’Brien Memorial Golf Tournament at Bay Pointe Resort & Golf Club on Thursday, November 3, 2011. Tournament registration is now open, and players from all industries and skill levels are encouraged to take part. The tournament will begin with a complimentary lunch at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1:05 p.m. The format will be a four-person scramble with an entry fee of $400 per team. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded and door prizes drawn as well. This year we are offering several sponsorship levels (see brochure for details).
Proceeds from the tournament will support AAF Jackson, the area’s only trade organization that protects and promotes the well-being of advertising as a practice as well as an industry. AAF Jackson is the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), a unique, nationally coordinated grassroots network of advertisers, agencies, media companies, local advertising clubs and college chapters. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the AAF acts as the “Unifying Voice for Advertising.” It is the oldest national advertising trade association, representing 40,000 professionals in the advertising industry. Founded in 1953, AAF Jackson is part of the AAF’s national network of 200 ad clubs located in communities across the country. Through its 226 college chapters, the AAF provides 6,000 advertising students with real-world case studies and recruitment connections to corporate America. The AAF also has nearly 100 blue-chip corporate members that are advertisers, agencies and media companies, comprising the nation’s leading brands and corporations.
AAF Jackson’s annual golf tournament honors the life and work of the late Bob O’Brien, former president and part owner of Lovecomm, now known as Comcast Spotlight. O’Brien was a 30-year member of AAF Jackson and a recipient of the organization’s prestigious Silver Medal Award in 1998.
