AAF Members had Lunch with Jane Maas – Author of Mad Women

AAF members enjoyed the entertaining tales of Jane Maas, author of the new book “Mad Women: The Other Side of Life on Madison Avenue in the 60’s and Beyond.” For half an hour, Jane, a mother of two and once creative director for Ogilvy & Mather and Wells Rich Greene, riveted everyone with her colorful stories about the fast-paced world of 1960‘s New York advertising she says is exactly like Mad Men, if not more so. Three Martini lunches? Sure. All that smoking? Yep. Affairs in the office? You betcha. Jane also spoke candidly about the less glamorous side of male-centric Madison Avenue, the sexism she and other women overcame to have successful careers. Warm, funny, and full of verve, Jane Maas was a real treat for everyone who got to hear her memorable story.
